Through digital, abstract art, the data story of SAS’ solar farm is told, reflecting the energy being produced and the impact time and temperature have on energy levels throughout the day.
There are four color themes the art rotates through as the day progresses. Early in the morning the piece has a yellow background. Moving into day time the background becomes blue, sunset purple and evening slate blue.
An energy band runs horizontally in the frame. The amount of energy the solar panels collect is reflected in vertical movement of the energy band.
Additionally there is an orb that moves horizontally in the frame. This orb represents the outside temperature. The higher the temp, the higher the orb is in the frame. The lower the temperature, the lower the orb is in the frame. It's location horizontally represents the hour of the day. This why you see the orb towards the left side of the frame in the morning theme and the right side of the frame in the sunset theme.
